The concept of this album was created through an outward pouring of my soul into music, having been filtered through the scopes of loneliness, wonder, deep thought and experience. That said, heavy influences for the concept of this album come from late nights of reflection on countryside roads with the closest of friends. To that end, these thoughts gave way to my sympathies for Japan and her people in the recent disaster on March 11th, 2011. As such, the Japanese I spoke, poor though it may have been, spoke of being in a dark place only to once again rise up and shine again. Along that vein, my music focused on sympathy, the destruction that was caused, and the hope of rebuilding. Finally, when all was said and done, I could not help but be drawn to thoughts of my own mortality and of what my last thoughts will be before I pass on.
